I teach advertising theory at Ryerson University, but I never imagined that one day I would play a part in developing an ad campaign. For me, the Gold Series #MyHairMyStory campaign is the embodiment of the teaching, research and writing I have been doing for over ten years. When I started my work in this field, I set an intention to use the research to learn more about myself, Black women, and our history. My hope is that Gold Series inspires people to see themselves in the products, and to connect with who they are and who they can become.
